I gained 20 pounds during my relationship but why if I'm happy
I didn't asked for the weight but I guess that comes with the relationship.

Do I seriously need to gain weight once I'm in a relationship? Don’t get me wrong, I love being in a relationship and being healthy. I'm not feeling the extra 20 pounds. Now, I am at fault because I will fill my partner and me up with nothing but great food every day.
Now let me take you back to before I got into a relationship.
I used to go to the gym five days out of the week, up at 5 a.m., eating my best. Okay, I'm telling a story. I ate somewhat the best because I love baking and snacking at night. You get my drift, though, right? I had a routine during the beginning of 2023, and then in the month of May, I might have fallen in love with my sweetheart and stopped caring because I just wanted to be under them. Now my partner is also a gym rat, and I definitely took them off their game too by feeding them and having them try my newly found recipes.
Feeding your significant other brings you joy. It's something about watching them eat your delicious food (if you can’t cook, join my cookbook club) like Ms.Netta do Charles. I am learning that I am pulling us as a couple down just a little, because I will bake every day if I can.
Yes, cooking healthy is something I can do and will do to get my partner and I back to what we once were.
Relationships are undoubtedly a beautiful part of our lives. They bring joy, love, and companionship. However, it is not uncommon for couples to experience changes in their physical appearance after being together for some time. One of the most common issues faced by many couples is weight gain.
When two individuals come together in a relationship, their habits and lifestyles inevitably intertwine. This can lead to a shift in daily routines, including eating patterns, exercise habits, and overall lifestyle choices. Couples tend to spend more time together, often indulging in shared meals, dining out, or cooking together. These activities, if not balanced with healthy choices, can contribute to weight gain over time.
Relationships provide comfort and support during challenging times, but they can also be a source of emotional eating. Stress, relationship conflicts, or even celebratory events can trigger a desire to indulge in comfort foods. Sharing such moments with a partner can create a bond, but it can also lead to mindless eating and weight gain if not managed consciously.
As relationships progress, individuals may become less focused on their physical appearance. The initial desire to impress and attract a partner often diminishes, leading to a sense of contentment and relaxation. This can inadvertently result in a decrease in physical activity and a more relaxed approach to maintaining a healthy weight.
Interestingly, studies have shown a correlation between relationship satisfaction and weight gain. When couples are happy and content in their relationship, they may become less motivated to maintain their weight or appearance. This can be attributed to a sense of security and acceptance from their partner, which may lead to a decrease in self-consciousness about body image.
Stay on your routine.
Tips for Maintaining a Healthy Lifestyle in Relationships
Discussing health and fitness goals as a couple can foster a supportive environment where both partners can work together towards maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Openly communicate about the importance of physical well-being and set realistic goals together.
Encourage each other to engage in physical activities that you both enjoy. Go for walks, try new sports or fitness classes together, or even plan active dates. This not only helps maintain a healthy weight but also strengthens the bond between partners.
While it's tempting to indulge in comfort foods or dine out frequently, it's crucial to maintain a balanced approach to eating. Cook healthy meals together, explore new recipes, and opt for healthier options when dining out. Incorporating fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins into your diet can make a significant difference.
Motivate each other to stay on track with health and fitness goals. Celebrate milestones, offer words of encouragement, and be each other's accountability partners. Remember, supporting one another is key to long-term success.
Relationship weight gain is a common phenomenon, and understanding the underlying factors can help couples address this issue proactively. By adopting a balanced lifestyle, communicating openly, and supporting each other's health goals, couples can maintain a healthy weight while nurturing a strong and loving partnership. Remember, love and a healthy lifestyle can go hand in hand, making the journey together even more fulfilling.
